What is best way to check if an assembly is managed or not?

    1) dumpbin.exe can be used with “dependents” switch to see if mscoree.dll is found.
    2) You can use dependency walker to see if there is a dependency on mscoree.dll

    or probably you can try to open it with ildasm (it should show you appropriate message i believe)
